Age: 28

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Have Lived: California, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, California again, North Dakota, Wyoming, South Korea, California again, South Korea again, and now Nevada

Occupation: Travel blogger, content writer, science fiction novelist, small airplane pilot, punster, mixologist, and foodie

Likes: Travel, peaty Scotch, craft beer, reading and writing speculative fiction, world history, guns, train travel, flying small airplanes, stargazing, lame puns, seafood of all kinds, climbing mountains, cold weather, pipe-smoking, and unsolved mysteries

Dislikes: Crowds, rudeness, green vegetables, e-readers, maths, stop signs, murky water, centipedes, secondhand smoke, "paranormal teen romance," light pollution, bad grammar, book-to-film adaptations

Abstract: George Bernard Shaw wrote that "Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." And ladies and gentlemen, I've created a monster. Not content to see just one country in my lifetime, I've made it my goal to see the world...one bar stool, mountain range, and fried scorpion at a time. (See my bucket list.) I've traveled to 12 countries in total and can't wait to quintuple that number. I freelance (too infrequently) for travel magazines, submit (quite frequently) to sci-fi magazines, possess a private pilot's license, and graduated from bartenders' school in 2011. I've worked at a feed store, a supermarket, a trading post, a daily newspaper, an IT help desk, two private English academies and a university in Korea, and a private company contracted by the California Air National Guard to chase Predator drones. I am a dedicated world traveler, dilettante journalist, aspiring author, dedicated sci-fi nut, maniacal reader, future commercial pilot and amateur mixologist. Pull up a stump and I'll tell you all about delicious highballs, good reads, vivifying travel destinations, the quirks of flying airplanes, the most precious secrets of the countries I've been to, and any other bits of wanton arcana I see fit to print. Something for everybody here. Every day is different, and the same goes for this blog. Follow along if you dare.

AT, do you have any contacts with people teaching English at Bucheon Reading Town (or at least the Reading Town chain) at other places in S Korea? Our daughter is considering an opportunity there. We are south Africans. My e-mail: albieh@mweb.co.za
