random travel destinations - Russia

Today's travel destination is the Kamchatka Peninsula, on the far eastern fringes of Russia. It's a pretty wild place, with volcanoes and huge bears aplenty, and even more sparsely populated than Alaska, I hear. It's definitely worth a look. And after you're done, you can head down to Vladivostok and catch the ferry to Japan, or the Trans-Siberian Railway west to Moscow! Imagine the possibilities! Just don't forget the bear spray. And a winter coat.
